The War on Science

As we all know, the Theory of Evolution is the scientific rational explaining how the diversity of life we see all around us came to be. Even though the scientific method existed long before Charles Darwin’s famous voyage of discovery, his theory and observations on natural selection have in many ways become the very foundation of modern science.
Before Darwin, scholars understood that God created the universe and everything in it, and used science as a means of understanding Him and His creation. However, if one were to suggest such a thing today, they would be immediately ostracized by the scientific community. But why? Is not science a forum for free and open expression of ideas, and the discussion thereof?
In the March 2015 issue of National Geographic entitled, “The War on Science”, the author states that “...when science conflicts with a person’s core beliefs, it usually loses.” This, of course, depicts persons of faith as ignorant and narrow-minded individuals, who cling to their presumptions based on religion alone; not actual science. However, if one stops to consider the scientific evidence for Creation—and there is evidence; if there weren’t there would be no argument—one will soon realize that not all individuals who believe in God do so out of blind faith.
I am one of these individuals.

    Yes, I love Jesus Christ.

Yes, I believe in an all-powerful, all knowing, all-present God who created everything in the universe.

But I also love science; I always have. And that is why I am opposed to the Theory of Evolution.

Allow me to be blunt: The Theory of Evolution as it is being presented today is an affront to science. Despite being a theory, Evolution is taught as though it were infallible, thus showing complete disregard for the scientific method—which, as I pointed out earlier, existed long before Darwin. Furthermore it teaches people to be closed-minded and condemns those who offer up alternative hypothesis and theories as to the origins of the universe. It also promotes racism and an air of superiority, both inside and outside the scientific community.
Think about it for a moment: If we are all constantly evolving towards perfection, then that would naturally imply that some members of our species are less evolved than others. In Hitler’s day it was people of a non-Germanic ancestry. Today, it is people who believe in a higher power; the religious individuals who do not have the highly evolved intellect of their Atheist counterparts. (According to a series of studies released in August 2013)

In short, the Theory of Evolution has transformed the scientific community into the very thing it despises: A dogmatic, religious organization.
Skeptics routinely accuse the church of persecuting scientists and retarding scientific progress. (Which is historically false.) But what they fail to realize is that modern science does the exact same thing to individuals who question Evolution. Highly intelligent, well educated Christians have been blacklisted by the scientific community for their beliefs despite presenting hard, scientific evidence to support their theories. Even non-religious scientist who dare to challenge Evolution are silenced and discredited. (The recent discovery of dinosaur soft tissue and the ensuing controversy in academia is one of many such examples.)
In essence, Creationism has become the new scientific heresy and Evolution the new religion. The science of Creationism conflicts with the core beliefs of Evolution, and as National Geographic writer Joel Achenbach put it: “...when science conflicts with a person’s core beliefs, it usually loses.”
